Salvation Army.

The local Salvation Army assists those in Titus County. The funds for this program are raised locally through the "Red Kettle Campaign".

Here are guidelines for use of the Salvation Army funds:

-Assistance is limited to one transaction per year not to exceed $100
-Utility, rent, medicine, clothing, and gasoline assistance is limited to Titus County residents only
-Shelter assistance is limited to those residing outside a 75 mile radius of Mount Pleasant, except for natural disasters or family violence
-Bus tickets are verified by phone. Travel for medical purposes will be verified by phone and acknowledgment of the fact that transportation is not provided.

PLEASE NOTE: REQUIRED DOCUMENTS NECESSARY are 1)proof of income 2) proof of how many in your family 3) Picture identification 4) Bill needing assistance 5) Proof of emergency or crisis preventing you to pay the bill.

Rent assistance requires a 'rent form' to be completed by landlord.  This must be completed and signed by landlord prior to consideration of rental assistance.
