Backpack Club.In an effort to prevent childhood hunger and to provide each child the opportunity to succeed in school and life, the Backpack Club provides food for school children each weekend. Currently, Titus County Cares distributes over 1,400 backpacks per week to schools in Cass, Franklin, Morris, Titus, and Wood County for low income families or latch key children. In each backpack, children find food that will help sustain them through the weekends when school food is not accessible. To see if your family qualifies for the Backpack Club, please contact the CIS (Communities in Schools) coordinator at your child's school. The Backpack Club does not distribute backpacks during the summer months. |
